31-year-old Anastasija Sevastova has come through two tough matches well in beating Zarina Diyas and then Ukrainian prodigy Marta Kostyuk on Thursday. The Latvian made the quarter-finals of the Eastbourne International last week via the qualifiers and that streak of wins on grass has clearly benefited her game at SW19. The world number 56 now faces possibly the toughest foe on the WTA at this moment in time with Roland-Garros Barbora Krejcikova extending her winning streak to 14. The 25-year-old also won the Strasbourg Open the week previous to her stunning French Open run and that momentum is going to take some serious stopping this fortnight.
In a first meeting between the two, Sevastova will find an immensely confident player across the net and this could be fairly one-sided. 14th seed Krejcikova is yet to drop a set at Wimbledon and despite some issues wit her serve on Thursday she still handily beat a good player in Andrea Petkovic.
