THE PREDICTION
2020 Australian Open champion Sofia Kenin looked in top form in an assured first round win over Wang Xinyu on Monday. The American managed to avoid the worst of the rain delays and she will be glad of the extra time to practice on a surface she is not all that familiar with throughout Tuesday and Wednesday. Her opponent is fellow American Madison Brengle after the world number 82 beat Christina McHale over three gruelling sets.
Kenin was the victor in their only previous meeting with a three-set victory in the first round of the 2018 US Open but the world number six has come on leaps and bounds since then. The 22-year-old will be glad to continue under the radar at Wimbledon as she continues to find her feet on grass and she should be able to come through this second round match without dropping a set.
