THE PREDICTION
This could be the match of the round between world number nine Swiatek and number 24 Ons Jabeur. Polish number one Swiatek has bulldozed through her first three matches at SW19 in her typical ruthless fashion but 26-year-old Jabeur will be her first proper challenger. The Tunisian won over the Centre Court crowd on Friday with an incredible assault on former Wimbledon champion Garbine Muguruza to come through in three sets. Jabuer won the Birmingham Classic two weeks ago for a well overdue first WTA title and that kind of form on grass has proven tough to beat.
Swiatek beat Jabeur over three sets back at the Citi Open in 2019 but both players have come on in leaps and bounds since then. After her display against Garbine Muguruza, Jabeur will probably garner most of the support here and that is something 20-year-old Swiatek has not had to deal with much in her life. However, the Pole’s power game is something to behold and as the slight favourite to come through here take the world number nine to win at least a set.
