World number seven Andrey Rublev got his Cincinnati Open campaign off to an impressive start with a comeback win over Marin Cilic on Wednesday. The fourth seed here has a decent chance at winning his first Masters title, having been hugely successful at ATP 500 level, with the likes of Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal missing from the draw. He will have to avenge his loss to Gael Monfils in the Qatar Open final back in 2018 to do so, with the Frenchman the winner there in straight sets for their only previous encounter. 34-year-old Monfils has been hard to pin down this season but results are starting to go his way again and the world number 22 is yet to drop a set this week with strong wins over Dusan Lajovic and Alex de Minaur. Matches involving highlight-reel enthusiast Monfils are tough to call right now with his fitness a constant shadow but take Rublev to win at least a set here as the likelier of two capable winners.
