THE PREDICTION

World number 41 Marin Cilic conceded just three games to Pedro Martinez in the quarter-finals of the Kremlin Cup and the 33-year-old is clearly liking his chances this week. Cilic is a two-time former champion here from 2014 and 2015 and he claimed his first ATP tour title in three years earlier this summer at the Stuttgart Open. 31-year-old Ricardas Berankis is yet to win a title on tour but he is yet to drop a set in Moscow with a sudden burst of form seeing him beat a previously impressive Adrian Mannarino on Friday. The world number 108 reached the final here in 2017, where he lost to Damir Dzumhur. Berankis and Cilic once played out an epic five-set battle in the second round of Wimbledon in 2015 with the Croat emerging the eventual victor. It should come a lot easier this time around for Cilic, who can realistically win this semi-final in straight sets.
