THE PREDICTION
World number 12 Belinda Bencic beat Jessica Pegula as recently as late July on her way to a shock Gold Medal at the Tokyo Olympic Games. Since then, Pegula’s form has visibly improved and the American is a player capable of winning the crowds to her cause if needed at the US Open with an excellent knack for three-set wins. Bencic leads this head-to-head 2-0 as things stand but Pegula should be able to take her first set off the Swiss this time. For that reason, taking this match to see three sets seems a suitable option, perhaps even Bencic in three.
