Miomir Kecmanovic, coached by David Nalbandian, comes into the US Open ranked at number 62 in the world. In March, he reached his world ranking peak of an impressive 38th and he has been consistent in his Grand Slam appearances so far. He reached the second round of the Australian Open, French Open and Wimbledon this year and has made the second round of the US Open in 2019 and 2020.
ARTHUR RINDERKNECH
Arthur Rinderknech made his Grand Slam debut last year was a first round finish in the French Open in 2020. Since then, he repeated that at Roland-Garros in 2021 before also reaching the Wimbledon first round in 2021. The Frenchman only turned pro in 2016 and has already reached a career high of number 78 in the world ranking in August 2021 after reaching the semi-finals of the Austrian Open in July.
THE PREDICTION
Kecmanovic defeated Rinderknech in April in the Belgrade Open in Serbia. This is likely to be a close encounter. Kecmanovic will be confident of reaching the second round again and the pattern of his career would suggest that will be his limit but Arthur Rinderknech is in strong form after having a high career ranking. It could be a match in which the sets are shared so going overs for games played looks a strong bet for this.
