Third round finishes in the Australian Open and US Open as well as second round bests in the French Open and Wimbledon. The Australian 22 year-old is currently ranked at number 62 in the world and has slightly struggled since he burst onto the scene. Since his impressive year of 2019, he has only made it past the first round of the Australian Open.
RADU ALBOT
A disappointing couple of years has seen Radu Albot fall from his highest world ranking of 39 in August 2019 all the way down to 108th as of August 2021. Since his third round appearance at Wimbledon in 2018, Albot has been knocked out in the first round in six of their last ten Grand Slams.
THE PREDICTION
Popyrin comes into this as the relatively comfortable favourite. The Australian has slightly stalled and stagnated since his excellent start to his professional career but he remains on course for good things whilst Radu Albot has declined as he has hit his 30s. A fairly comfortable Alexei Popyrin win looks the likely outcome for this one.
