THE PREDICTION
Serbia Open fourth seed Paula Badosa continued her all-out assault on the draw with a comprehensive straight-set victory over Viktoriya Tomova on Saturday and faces world number 188 Ana Konjuh in the final just a few hours later. 23-year-old Konjuh also played a semi-final on Saturday before Badosa’s match but will certainly be feeling it more after a tough battle with Maria Osorio Serrano, beating the Colombian via two tiebreaks. Even though world number 44 Badosa played the later match she will be the fresher in this final and it does not help matters for Konjuh that she needed treatment in her match after the first set on a recurring injury. The Croat is on her way back from a series of lay-offs and reaching this final will be a big step in the right direction in itself but Badosa, also 23, looks the solid favourite to win her first ever WTA title. The Spaniard has been in blistering form for weeks now and looks ready to rise up the rankings towards a great campaign at Roland-Garros next week so take her to win in straight sets here.
