THE PREDICTION
This is an intriguing first meeting between James Duckworth and Roberto Bautista Agut as the Aussie continues to make his way steadily up the ATP world rankings in his best year on tour. The 29-year-old set a new career-high of 51st in the world after reaching the final of the Astana Open in late September and then the quarter-final of the Sofia Open a week later. He remains the solid underdog against 31-year-old RBA but the Spaniard has been found wanting in recent weeks if taken to three sets, with defeats to Cam Norrie at Indian Wells, Marton Fucsovics in Antwerp and Marin Cilic in St. Petersburg. If Duckworth can take this to a decider he currently fares a solid chance at coming through. Taking the Aussie to snatch at least a set could be valuable here but RBA to win at least a set is the suitably cautious line.
