World number 46 Shuai Zhang fought back well from a set down against Kristina Mladenovic on Friday to win a tough deciding tiebreak to back-up a great win over Zarina Diyas the round prior. The 32-year-old is always a dangerous opponent but can also suddenly drop her level at this stage of a tournament and Lauren Davis is a fighter who will take full advantage if that happens. However, world number 86 Davis is likely through to the semi-finals by luck after Katie Boulter was forced to withdraw from their quarter-final a set up on Friday afternoon. 27-year-old Davis is well capable of forcing a decider but if Zhang plays to her best ability the Chinese star should be able to come through in straight sets here.
