THE PREDICTION
Nottingham Open’s first seed and home favourite Johanna Konta battled through her straight-sets win over Alison Van Uytvanck on Friday as the Belgian forced her to dig deep. Ultimately, though, Konta has looked solid this week and the British number one should be able to reach the final via a tough first meeting with world number 87 Nina Stojanovic. The Serbian has yet to drop a set this week in Nottingham and she took out the third seed Donna Vekic comfortably enough on Thursday but Konta will have pretty much the full backing of the crowd here. The 30-year-old is great and finding an extra gear in the key moments so take her to win outright here with Stojanovic well capable of forcing a decider.
