This is an intriguing rematch between two players separated by just two places in the ATP world rankings as world number 105 Arthur Rinderknech and number 107 Yannick Hanfmann face-off for the second time in 31 days. Frenchman Rinderknech was the winner in the first round of the Halle Open last month and his defeat of in-form fourth-seed John Millman here on Wednesday was in keeping with recent strong performances on tour. 29-year-old Hanfmann has been enjoying less success in recent months but the German is a dogged competitor and is yet to drop a set here with two strong wins over Thiago Monteiro and Jiri Vesely. A straight-sets win for Rinderknech on grass last month suggests the 25-year-old should take this but on clay the playing field should be slightly more level so take the Frenchman as outright winner here.
