The last two Roland-Garros champions meet here for a blockbuster round of 16 tie at the Madrid Masters. World number one Ashleigh Barty has three titles to her name this season already, including the Miami Open, and looks a solid favourite for a second Masters title in 2021 this week alongside Simona Halep. However, this match will be a high-quality tussle deserving of a semi-final and Swiatek is a tricky player to face for a first time anywhere. The Pole is currently ranked at world number 17 but this clay swing should see her steadily rise into the top 10 on current form. Both players have been comfortable enough in reaching this stage and both have extra gears to find in Madrid. This will be a must-watch match on Monday and a winner is difficult to pick. It should be Barty coming through, so take her as outright winner or for this match to see three sets but it would not be a surprise to see current Roland-Garros champion Swiatek blast through either.
