THE PREDICTION
35-year-old Pablo Andujar has four ATP titles to his name on clay and is always a handful on his favoured surface, especially in front of a limited home crowd. He faces fellow qualifier Marcos Giron here for a first ever meeting with the 27-year-old American and Giron has enjoyed the better success at Masters events of late. World number 91 Giron enjoyed some strong form last year that took him to the round of 16 of the Paris Masters before losing out to Milos Raonic but he is less effective on clay and could struggle here. Since making the semi-finals in Madrid in 2013, Andujar has lost in the first round of each of his last three appearances here but he should be able to overcome Giron this time around.
