Madrid Masters’ 14th seed Jannik Sinner will be a dark horse for another deep run in a Masters event here after reaching the Miami Open final last month. The world number 18 made it all the way through to the Barcelona Open semi-finals last time out before losing to eventual runner-up Stefanos Tsitsipas and the Italian looks set for a confident start here in Madrid. It will be worth waiting for this match to be fully confirmed as his opponent Guido Pella was forced to pull out of his second round match at the Munich Open last week but if it goes ahead the 30-uyear-old is in for a potential humbling here. Sinner is well on target to reach the ATP Finals at the end of the season if he carries on in this stupendous form and he can blast through this first match in straight sets.
