World number 25 Alex de Minaur will play his first match since a round of 16 loss to Stefanos Tsitsipas at the Barcelona Open in a second meeting with 23-year-old Jaume Munar. De Minaur will be supported well in this match-up against a Spaniard in Madrid having lived and trained in Spain for much of his young life and this could be a thrilling first round tie between two young players. Munar made the Andalucia Open final last month and fought well before finishing runner-up to Pablo Carreno Busta but De Minaur’s speed and experience should be too much to cope with here. World number 88 Munar is improving all the time but take De Minaur to win in straight sets as a home favourite away from home.
