THE PREDICTION
Both world number 13 Barbora Krejcikova and number 78 Tereza Martincova have reached the Ladies Open Lausanne final without dropping a set and this should be a great occasion in Prague between the two Czechs. Both players have vastly improved their form this summer and take each other on at their career-high WTA rankings. When Petra Kvitova bombed in the first round the Prague Open draw opened up significantly and Martincova has been especially impressive in reaching her first final. It is actually the 26-year-old who holds the lead in their head-to-head record, winning both of their first two meetings in 2016 before a third encounter last year went Krejcikova’s way. Given the season the Roland-Garros champion has had, this match looks likely to see that record hit 2-2 with Krejcikova requiring a much tougher opponent to beat her right now. Realistically, Krejcikova can win her third WTA title in straight sets.
