World number 50 Tamara Zidansek continued her excellent clay form this season to reach her first WTA final. The 23-year-old was exceptional at Roland-Garros where she stormed through to the semi-finals and as the first seed in Lausanne she has rarely been troubled. The Slovenian might have been expecting to face seasoned clay-court player Caroline Garcia here but 20-year-old Clara Burel came back well in their semi-final to win in three and certainly exceed expectations this week. World number 125 Burel reached two Grand Slam finals as a junior and in beating Garcia and Fiona Ferro before her is emerging as a new name for France to get behind. This first meeting between the two is hugely unpredictable with such momentum behind the youngster but take Zidansek to win outright as her confidence on tour grows exponentially.
