World number nine Matteo Berrettini was part of a high tempo first round encounter with Nikoloz Basilashvili but managed to settle down over three sets after his loss in the final of the Madrid Open on Sunday. The Italian’s serve needed settling but he should be in a better place in time to face an in-form John Millman for the first time as the Aussie comes off a straight-sets win over Dusan Lajovic. World number 42 Millman has been in excellent shape of late on clay and he will be a thorn in the side of Berrettini throughout this match, though the Italian’s serve is likely to be too hot to handle for the Aussie. Take Berrettini to come through this outright, with Millman well capable of forcing a decider.
