THE PREDICTION
30-year-old Federico Delbonis is in some excellent form right now on his favoured surface and came back from a set down to beat a top 30 player for the second time in a fortnight with his first round win over Karen Khachanov on Monday. The Argentine also beat world number 12 Pablo Carreno Busta in much the same fashion last week at the Madrid Open and with David Goffin struggling for form this looks like another upset waiting to happen. World number 13 Goffin made short work of Salvatore Caruso on Sunday but the Belgian missed out on Madrid altogether following an injury in Barcelona and he has been nigh-on impossible to pin down all season in terms of what he is capable of. Given the unreliability of the Belgian right now, it is safest to opt for Delbonis to win at least one set here instead of the big win even though that looks the likeliest way this one will fall.
