This should be a really high-quality first round match in Rome between Ugo Humbert and Jannik Sinner as two of the younger members of the top third of the ATP rankings looking set for a long time at the top of the game. 22-year-old Humbert was the winner the only previous time they met in the group stage of the Next Gen ATP Finals in 2019, although Sinner went on to win that tournament and The 19-year-old’s star has not stopped rising since. Now world number 18, Sinner should enjoy this third appearance at a home Masters event in Rome and will be aiming to make the final of an ATP 1000 event for the second time this season having reached the Miami Open final last month. Sinner is not a player who seems to need the crowds but the limited spectators will be fully there for him as a star now and of the future. Take the Italian to win this outright, although probably in two.
