World number 51 Lloyd Harris was forced to retire from the second round of the Madrid Open last week against Alex de Minaur which was such a shame after the South African beat Grigor Dimitrov so handily in the first round. Harris has made an ATP final this season in Dubai and the 24-year-old looks set for his best year on tour so far. Harris beat Cristian Garin in their only previous meeting on his way to his first ATP final at the Adelaide International last season but on clay the Chilean should be in the ascendency. World number 22 Garin eventually came unstuck against Madrid runner-up Matteo Berrettini last week but the 24-year-old claimed one of the best wins of his career by beating Daniil Medvedev in the round previous. Garin should be winning this encounter but Harris’ form this season will make this a tough one throughout so take the Chilean to win outright or for this match to see three sets.
