THE PREDICTION
30-year-old Federico Delbonis enjoyed an excellent run to the Madrid Open round of 16 last week before coming unstuck against eventual runner-up Matteo Berrettini but the Argentine is in some excellent form right now. Delbonis shot up the ATP world rankings to number 64 on Monday and this looks an intriguing match-up now against world number 24 Karen Khachanov, who lost their last meeting on clay. 24-year-old Khachanov went a set up against Kei Nishikori last week but struggled to get through the first round for the second tournament in a row. Riding a three-match losing streak and struggling for confidence still, this could be a massive scalp for Federico Delbonis who is definitely the man in better form. Take the Argentine to win at least a set here but this looks like the upset of the first round.
