THE PREDICTION
World number 19 Hubert Hurkacz has two ATP titles to his name already this season including an incredible first Masters title at last month’s Miami Open but the Pole has struggled for form since that best week of his young career. There could be several reasons for this but first and foremost the 24-year-old is exceptional on a hard court but his skills have yet to transfer over well on clay and that could see a second-successive defeat in the first round of a tournament here. World number 82 Lorenzo Musetti has also struggled for form on clay this past few weeks but the Italian is a showman already at 19 years old and he enjoyed his home debut here last season emphatically. Musetti announced himself to the world by beating Stan Wawrinka and Kei Nishikori in Rome to reach the round of 16 last September, by far his best showing at an ATP 1000 event, and a limited but boisterous crowd should carry him through to another big upset in terms of rankings at least.
