THE LOWDOWN

19-year-old Colombian ace Maria Camila Osorio Serrano is likely a future clay-court expert given her best performances so far have come on that surface, including her first WTA title on home soil in Bogota this year, but she looks set to challenge the higher-end of the top 100. The current world number 71 will face world number 100 Aliaksandra Sasnovich in one of the more competitive-looking first round matches, with the prize a second round meeting with US Open champion Emma Raducanu.

THE PREDICTION

Much of the attention on this match will be for that very reason and taking out the tennis star of the moment will be a big motivation for both. Sasnovich reached a career-high 30^th in the world just three years ago but the 27-year-old has struggled to impose herself on tournaments this year. Her only quarter-final appearance at tour level was halted by Osorio Serrano, who beat her in straight-sets at the Serbia Ladies Open to reach the semi-finals. Things should be a little closer on a hard court but the Colombian still looks the favourite to come through here.
