World number 48 Federico Delbonis continued his excellent clay form with a hard-fought three-set victory over Benoit Paire in the quarter-finals of the Hamburg Open. With first seed Stefanos Tsitsipas knocked out of the draw there is a huge opportunity for any one of the last four to win an ATP 500 event, not least the 30-year-old Argentine who deserves something for his superb performances this season. Delbonis will face world number 13 Pablo Carreno Busta for an eighth time in their careers and he leads the Spaniard 5-2 in their head-to-head record after a three-set win at the Madrid Masters earlier this year. 29-year-old Carreno Busta has looked strong this week, though, and is yet to drop a set after a convincing victory over Dusan Lajovic on Friday.
