Whilst the draw has been fairly kind this week to both players they have made the last four on merit and this should be a really entertaining first meeting full of long rallies. World number 71 Thompson has to be fancied on his recent form, with wins over Casper Ruud and Kei Nishikori on grass two weeks ago at Wimbledon, but Brooksby is an unknown quantity in front of home fans.
