35-year-old Pablo Andujar did well to come back from a set and a break down against exciting young Swiss prospect Dominic Stephan Stricker on Thursday to reach the semi-finals in Geneva. The Spaniard beat Roger Federer, the biggest win of his career in many ways, earlier in the week and the self-belief drawn from that has already made an unlikely champion this year - with Nikoloz Basliashvili winning an unlikely Qatar Open trophy following a win over Federer. The world number 75 faces the likeliest Geneva Open champion next, though, in world number 21 Casper Ruud and the Norwegian was the winner the last time they met on clay at the Buenos Aires Open last year. Ruud has been in excellent form on clay all season and should be able to overpower a specialist in Andujar here in straight sets. His comeback three-set win over Dominik Koepfer yesterday, though, suggests picking the 22-year-old as outright winner is safer here.
