Firstly, taking out Marin Cilic in the first round via a tiebreak is mightily impressive but to beat Marton Fucsovics in two on Wednesday in match sporadically disturbed by rain is very promising indeed. The current world number 419 will face Pablo Andujar now with real confidence, though the Spaniard is exceptional on clay and comes off one of the biggest wins of his career in ousting the returning Roger Federer. 35-year-old Andujar is enjoying some good form in Geneva, with his defeats of Federer and world number 63 Jordan Thompson his best results of an average year so far so this first meeting with Stricker looks a real showdown. This is a tough one to call between career-win momentum from both players at polar opposite ends of their careers. Take Stricker to win at least a set here as this looks like it could go down to the wire.
