THE PREDICTION
Before this year Cameron Norrie and Rafael Nadal had never crossed paths on court but this will be their third match in four months now and looks set to be an enjoyable one. World number three Nadal beat Richard Gasquet for a 17th time on Thursday night in a match that started one-sided and ended just a little bit less one-sided on his 35th birthday and the Spaniard is looking in exceptional shape. However, so is world number 45 Cameron Norrie, whose excellent form all season is proving many doubters wrong whilst his calm, collected and consistent game makes his victories look easy for the 25-year-old. Norrie came back from a set down to beat Lloyd Harris and reach the third round of Roland-Garros for the first time, just his third time reaching this stage of a Grand Slam. Nadal was the man to knock him out in straight sets at this stage at the Australian Open back in February and despite the Brit’s best efforts there is little to suggest he can make a dent in the Spaniard’s fortress here in Paris either. Something has truly clicked for Norrie this season and he was competitive throughout his two straight-sets defeats to Nadal this year but that should be true again of a defeat in three here on Saturday.
