This looks like a robust and likely lengthy first meeting between world number 84 Marcos Giron and number 61 Guido Pella. 27-year-old Giron was on his way to coming back from two sets down against Grigor Dimitrov before the Bulgarian retired form their first round match and the American will be a willing runner again throughout this first meeting with Pella. 31-year-old Pella will be just as glad to have come through his first round with Daniel Elahi Galan in three sets as he will be to have made it through without retiring and the Argentine will be a more confident player from here on in.
