THE PREDICTION
This is an unlikely second round tie between world number 101 James Duckworth and number 93 Ricardas Berankis after both players beat higher-ranked players in four sets on Tuesday. 30-year-old Berankis’ victory over Frenchman Ugo Humbert was especially impressive, even if the world number 32 has been struggling with form of late. The Lithuanian now has a fantastic opportunity to reach the third round of Roland-Garros for the first time, and of a Grand Slam for only the fifth time, but he will have to cope with playing the favourite here against Australia’s Duckworth. 29-year-old Duckworth overcame a strong assault from Salvatore Caruso in the first round and he will have plenty to say about which way this tough contest falls. If over three sets is an option, take that here. Otherwise take Berankis to win at least a set as the slight favourite.
