THE PREDICTION
World number 150 Henri Laaksonen brought strong qualifying form into the first round of Roland-Garros by beating a good clay-court opponent in Yannick Hanfmann. The Swiss will pose a threat to world number 11 Roberto Bautista Agut, who beat Laaksonen the last time they played just under eight years ago but that has little standing for this match. 33-year-old RBA has not exactly struggled this season but the Spaniard has not been at his best either, though a straight-sets win over Mario Vilella Martinez was an assured performance. Bautista Agut has been a mainstay of the latter stages of Grand Slams in recent years and he should come through this match comfortably enough but Laaksonen is good enough to potentially snatch a set here so take RBA as outright winner.
