THE PREDICTION
Marco Cecchinato shot back up the ATP world rankings to number 83 after reaching the final of the Emilia-Romagna Open on Saturday. The 28-year-old lost to Sebastian Korda on the day but he should benefit from that run in Parma here with a winnable first fixture at Roland-Garros against world number 115 Yasutaka Uchiyama. Uchiyama, also 28, has just two wins on the ATP tour this season and looks set to struggle throughout this first meeting with Cecchinato. The Italian made a famous run to the finals here three years ago before Dominic Thiem knocked him out and whilst that seems a lofty target in 2021 he will be a danger to anybody and should be taken as outright winner here.
