THE PREDICTION
Germany’s power-server Yannick Hanfmann reached the quarter-final of the Sardegna Open earlier this year but has since struggled for consistency on the clay. He faces Swiss qualifier Henri Laaksonen in what looks a strong candidate for a five-set slog on Sunday after the 29-year-old fought tooth and nail to qualify for the first round. Laaksonen beat young Argentine prospect Juan-Manuel Cerundolo on Saturday via a deciding tiebreak and a strong qualifying run looks better form than Hanfmann’s two wins his last five matches. This result looks a difficult call any which way but take Laaksonen to win at least one set here after a weekend of fight behind him.
