THE PREDICTION
29-year-old Filip Krajinovic has been granted a fairly winnable opening fixture here at Roland-Garros and the Serb needs all the help he can get after losing his last three matches on the spin. Krajinovic is a strong clay competitor when on form but he has so far struggled for consistency in 2021 and this first meeting is certainly a potential banana skin. 25-year-old Marterer enjoyed a fairly simple route through the qualifying rounds here but the German is far from the player who reached the round of 16 here in 2018. In normal service this should be a straight-set victory for Krajinovic but take the Serb to win outright in what could be a shaky first match in Paris.
