THE PREDICTION
19-year-old Jannik Sinner is one to watch at Roland-Garros this year and the Italian will be targeting nothing less than the round of 16 in Paris. Sinner broke the top 20 earlier this season and looks destined for the top 10, and possibly even ATP Finals qualification later this year, such is his ability. The teenager has beaten Andrey Rublev and Roberto Bautista Agut on clay this season so far and it has taken the likes of Stefanos Tsitsipas, Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal to oust him at his best, although his last two tournaments have seen some early exits. Pierre-Hugues Herbert will be a tough competitor here and is well-loved by Roland-Garros crowds for his enthusiasm but this is a tough first tie for the 30-year-old. Herbert should have plenty more joy in the Men’s Doubles draw but take Sinner to win this first round match in three.
