THE PREDICTION
Thiago Monteiro is a robust left-hander capable of testing any player on his day but he would have been preparing for a bit of a bruising when he first drew Milos Raonic. However, the Canadian was forced to withdraw from Roland-Garros and Monteiro will likely struggle to adapt quickly enough to meet lucky loser Francisco Cerundolo with a full game plan. 22-year-old Cerundolo and his younger brother Juan-Manuel broke onto the scene on the South American swing earlier this season as Juan-Manuel won the Cordoba Open and Francisco lost to Diego Schwartzman in the Buenos Aires Open a week later. Since then wins have been few and far between but the Argentine has been granted a second chance here to play in a Grand Slam for the first time in his career and that will be a powerful thing. Take Cerundolo to win at least a set here in a result that could go either way.
