This match between two players hovering around the top 100 in the ATP world rankings will garner a much larger crowd than usual considering 18-year-old Carlos Alcaraz is making his Roland-Garros debut. The Spaniard won his Grand Slam debut earlier this year at the Australian Open against world number 151 Botic Van de Zandschulp and he continues to improve exponentially with each passing month. Alcaraz prepared for the French Open with a title win on the Challenger circuit last week and he should be quite a handful for fellow Spaniard Benabe Zapata Miralles on Monday, who qualified well for his Grand Slam debut here at 24 years old. This means a lot to both Spaniards and it could well go the distance in front of, possibly, one of the largest crowds either player has performed in front of. Zapata Miralles should be able to snatch a set from somewhere in this one so take Alcaraz to win outright here and settle any nerves he may have in front of spectators believing his hype.
