THE PREDICTION
25-year-old Botic Van de Zandschulp came through the qualifiers to reach the main draw for the first time and only his second Grand Slam match ever after he lost to rising star Carlos Alcaraz at the Australian Open back in February. The Dutchman has a real chance at the upset in this match against Hubert Hurkacz as the Pole enters off the back of a three-match losing streak stretching back to mid-April. The 19th seed fought his way through to a fantastic Miami Open title in April but has since struggled with all manner of things, including illness, and this will be an intriguing first round match indeed. In normal service this should be an open-and-shut case for a straight-sets victory for Hurkacz but given his recent form take the Pole to win outright here.
