22-year-old Alex de Minaur has struggled to get into the clay swing so far this season but has fallen at the hands of Stefanos Tsitsipas and Dominic Thiem in two matches he performed fairly well in in recent months. The Aussie is a good clay-court competitor whose speed normally catches opponents off guard and that was the case the first time he faced Stefanos Travaglia at last year’s Paris Masters, beating the Italian in straight sets. 29-year-old Travaglia is riding a three-match losing streak since beating Benoit Paire in the first round of the Italian Open earlier this month and he is unlikely to have enough to overcome the 21st seed here. Take De Minaur to win outright and you can add him to win the first set too as he so often starts fast.
