World number 108 Sara Errani fought back from a set down against Sara Sorribes Tormo before the Spaniard was forced to retire in the deciding set on Wednesday. 34-year-old Errani could be feeling the rigours of that lengthy round of 16 match when she takes on former Us Open champion Sloane Stephens on Thursday. 28-year-old Stephens took out the fourth seed Daria Kasatkina via three impressive sets on Tuesday and should therefore be the much more spritely of the two here.
