THE PREDICTION
Marco Cecchinato made short work of Norbert Gombos in their quarter-final to surpass expectations this week in Parma. The Italian has three clay-court title to his name already and has an excellent opportunity to reach his first final since the Sardinia Open last year where he lost to Laslo Djere. However, 24-year-old Jaume Munar continued some strong form at this level with an emphatic straight-sets victory over Richard Gasquet and the young Spaniard is starting to live up to some hype on this surface. World number 80 Munar is yet to drop a set this week and finished runner-up at the Andalucia Open last month to show for his ATP 250 pedigree this season. Munar beat Cecchinato in three sets back in 2019 at the Cordoba Open for their first meeting and he looks set to be the outright winner this time around too.
