World number 49 Lloyd Harris could be counting his lucky stars after a sudden rematch with Rafael Nadal, whom he beat in three sets last week at the Citi Open in Washington, pulled out of the tournament. The 24-year-old will have to recalibrate quickly, though, as he faces Spain’s elder stateman in 39-year-old Feliciano Lopez, who qualifies here as a very lucky loser considering he lost in the qualifiers and is now fast-tracked to the second round. That kind of boost will be a powerful motivation for world number 97 Lopez and we have often seen lucky losers rally to win their second chances. Harris is still the favourite for this but plenty of uncalculatable factors here suggest Lopez can take full advantage to cause a mini upset. Take the Spaniard to win at least a set here.
