THE PREDICTION
This could be the match of the round for the Canada Masters across both the ATP and WTA as world number eight Bianca Andreescu faces the 13th seed Ons Jabeur for the very first time. Home favourite Andreescu is still coming back from a difficult few months of frustrating injuries but the Canadian is just one good week away from getting back into the swing of things. 21-year-old Andreescu won the US Open in 2019 and will be a strong candidate to reach the final in Flushing Meadows next month, though after a three-set win over Harriet Dart here on Wednesdays he still has some improving to do. This is a desperately tough round of 16 tie against Jabeur after the Tunisian star took out Daria Kasatkina in three sets. 26-year-old Jabeur brought further attention to her magnificent game this summer by reaching the quarter-finals at Wimbledon and winning her first WTA title in Birmingham.
This match is probably best left alone in the markets but a must-watch for spectacle. At a push, taking Jabeur to win at least a set here seems likely but the winner of this one will have to fight very hard indeed.
