THE PREDICTION

World number five and third seed here Stefanos Tsitsipas will be well-rested after a deserved break following his gut-wrenching five-set defeat to Novak Djokovic in the semi-finals of the French open. His fightback that night was nothing short of heroic but the Greek lost his nerve in the deciding set and will have struggled to take the nature of the eventual loss to the world number one. His high standards should see him go deep at the Vienna Open and he should be considered a contender for the title here. Jan-Lennard Struff stands in his way in this first round match but although the pair share a head-to-head record of two wins apiece, the German is in no such form to be beating Tsitsipas at this moment in time. The world number 34 played a couple of poor tournaments in Cologne following a shock loss to compatriot Daniel Altmaier at Roland-Garros and should fall here in straight-sets.
