THE PREDICTION
An interesting match in store here between the improving Gerasimov and the higher-ranked Lasovic, who doesn’t always look at ease on hard courts and is considered more of a clay specialist. Gerasimov claimed some scalps prior to lockdown and most notably defeated David Goffin at the Open 13 so he will no doubt be a dangerous opponent for Lajovic, who doesn’t come into this tournament with any great momentum. The Serb lost in straight sets to Pablo Carreno Busta in the first round of the Western & Southern Open last week and that is hardly ideal preparation for this encounter so an upset could potentially be on the cards here. It is a difficult one to call though, so the betting suggestion is for this one to go all the way to a fifth set.
