THE PREDICTION
Alexander Bublik got off to a shaky start against the USA’s Mackenzie McDonald but came back strongly to reach the round of 16 here. The maverick 23-year-old has beaten the likes of Felix Auger-Aliassime and Gael Monfils in the past few weeks but his successes balance his losses right now and that should see him lose out to Milos Raonic. The Canadian made short work of Jeffrey John Wolf in the first round and is patient enough to weather any flashes of Bublik’s occasional brilliance to reach the quarter-finals. Raonic should realistically win this in straight-sets, although Bublik is a wildcard at the best of times.
