THE PREDICTION
It is just over a year since their last match for Marton Fucsovics and Borna Coric who last played at the St. Petersburg Open in 2019 when Fucsovicse was forced to retire in the first round. The Hungarian took the first set there before having to pull out of the decider but he will come into this match in the knowledge that he may well have won that day in full health. However, that defeat contributes to Coric’s 2-0 head-to-head record lead and the Croatian is in a rich vein of form here as he comes from a big display in a loss to Novak Djokovic. The world number 24 “lost well” in the round of 16 at the Vienna Open last week and will be the favourite here but Fucsovics is the kind of player that relishes being the underdog.
